Viader Napa Valley 1998

Appearance: Deep garnet with a brick-tinged rim.

Nose: Blackcurrant, dried blackberry, cedar, cigar box, graphite, leather, dried herbs, and forest floor.

Palate: Medium to full-bodied with silky, resolved tannins. Mature cassis, plum, tobacco, pencil lead, earthy minerality, and subtle spice. Elegant rather than powerful.

Finish: Long, savoury, and refined with lingering cedar and graphite.
