Bright violet color. Fresh raspberry and floral aromas, with notes of star anise and cracked pepper adding complexity. Juicy, palate-staining red fruit flavors show excellent depth and energy, with no rough edges. Quite elegant and open-knit, finishing with impressive cling and lingering spiciness. This wine is made by Bertrand Sourdais, former winemaker at Dominio de Atauta.
Our notes are as above.
The Antidoto is Tempranillo from grapes from Soto de San Esteban in the Soria province, the cooler part of Ribera del Duero, where stony and sandy soils abound. The idea here is to reflect the character of the grape more than the place, as this is only an entry-level red; the wine is aged exclusively in used barrels. Dark, with a pure nose of ripe black fruit, without any over- ripeness, with well-integrated notes from the wood, aromas of smoke, hay and sweet spices, it is serious and a little austere. The palate is medium-bodied, with abundant tannins and some creamy flavors ending slightly warm.
